Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important representative commented the vandalism left him stunned and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right attack five years ago," he posted on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
