19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved service.
He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a decider.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
